There’s often some dust on the shelves and rolls of blueprints sitting on every available surface. We aren't the type of people to sit behind a desk all day in clean clothes. Most of us are coming in from a site or heading out to one. The office is really just a base where we can do the planning and the billing. It’s a practical space with a few old computers and a very busy telephone. We deal with materials, workers, and deadlines every single day. It’s not always easy, especially when the weather doesn't cooperate or a delivery is late. We don’t use big words to explain what we do; we just build things. Whether it's a small repair or a bigger project, we just look at the plans and get to work. The neighborhood is pretty lively, and we’ve become a part of the daily scenery here. We don’t have any fancy mission statements hanging on the walls. We just have a calendar with a lot of dates circled in red ink. It’s about getting the blocks in the right place and making sure the structure is solid. That’s what we do, day in and day out.
