Mahendra Traders is right in the heart of Chickpet, inside Ganraj Market at shop number 52. If you’ve ever been to Chickpet, you know how crowded and loud it gets with all the people, but that’s where all the action is. We’ve been here for a long time, trading various goods and making sure our customers get what they need for their shops. Our shop isn't very large at all, but we pack a lot of stock into every corner and up to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at once. We handle a lot of wholesale stuff, so there are always boxes being moved in and out throughout the day. The market life is fast and you have to be quick to keep up with the orders and the shouting. We don't have fancy websites or big marketing budgets to show off. We just rely on being here every day and knowing our trade well. Most people who come to us have been doing business with our family for many years. It’s about those old relationships built over time. We drink a lot of chai and talk to the other shopkeepers nearby while we wait for deliveries. It’s a community of workers. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on the main road, but we make it work. We just try to keep the prices fair for the regular folks who come by.
