Karnataka State Sericulture Research Development Institute

We are located over in the Talaghatapura Gidc Industrial Estate. It is a busy place with a lot of movement. Here at the Karnataka State Sericulture Research Development Institute, we spend most of our days looking into everything related to silk. It is not always exciting work, but it matters for the farmers and the industry here. The buildings are a bit old now, and you can see the wear on the walls. We have been in this spot for quite some time. Getting to the industrial estate in the morning can be a bit of a crawl through traffic, especially when the trucks are moving. Inside, there is a lot of equipment and different departments doing their own thing. Sometimes people get lost trying to find us because the estate is quite big and the signs aren't always clear. We just get on with the research. It is mostly quiet inside the labs, though you can hear the machines running in the background. The staff mostly knows each other well because we have been working together for years. We do not have a fancy lobby or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we try to understand more about sericulture. We take our tea breaks together in the small canteen area when there is time. It is a simple setup but it works for what we need to do every day. There is always a lot of paperwork to deal with, like any other place around here.
