Karanataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd

I spend most of my days here at the office on Kempa Gowda Road. It is an old building, very sturdy but definitely showing its age in the corners and the stairwells. Working for the power transmission side of things means we are always thinking about the grid and the lines. My desk is covered in maps of the power lines running through the city. It is a lot of responsibility to keep track of everything, but we just take it one day at a time. The area around BP Road is always packed with people and vendors. Finding a parking spot in the morning is a real headache, so I usually just take the bus. Inside the office, it is mostly just the sound of the old ceiling fans and the clicking of keyboards. We have these big ledgers that have been around longer than I have been working here. I have been in this role for many years now. You get used to the hum of the equipment in the background. It is not the kind of place where people come for fun. It is serious work, but we still find time to joke around in the small breakroom. The walls are painted a dull cream color that has faded over the years. We get a lot of phone calls when the weather turns bad and the lights go out in the neighborhood. Those are our busiest times. But mostly, it is just a steady routine of checking figures and supplies.
