Iyer

Our office is in Koramangala 82, which is one of those parts of Bangalore that never really sleeps. It’s a bit of a maze of streets around here, but we’ve been settled in this spot for a while. The office for Iyer is just a regular room filled with the usual stuff you’d expect—computers, some stacks of paper, and a few old pens that hardly work. It’s not a large operation by any means. We mostly just keep to ourselves and focus on whatever is on the list for that morning. The neighborhood is full of cafes and start-ups, but we don’t really participate in all that networking stuff. We just have our small space where the rent is decent and the commute isn’t too terrible for the staff. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor has a few scuffs from moving the desks around last year. It feels like a real workplace though, not some polished showroom. You can hear the rain hitting the roof pretty loudly during the monsoon, and the street noise is a constant backdrop to our conversations. We don’t have any big slogans on the walls or corporate posters. It is just a place where we come to put in our hours and do a decent job before heading back out into the Bangalore traffic. It’s simple, it’s a bit messy, and it’s where we are every day.
