Interior Decorators

Down in Shivaji Nagar, right in the middle of Rangati Kapad Bazar on Astodia Road, you’ll find us. We just go by Interior Decorators, which tells you exactly what we do without any fuss. The bazar is a historic place, and we’ve been part of this street for quite some time now. You can hear the sounds of the cloth merchants and the bikes zooming past all day long. Our shop is filled with the kind of stuff you’d expect—lots of fabrics, because we are in the Kapad Bazar after all. I spend a lot of my time sorting through rolls of cloth and making sure the colors haven't faded in the sun. The shelves are a bit disorganized, but I know exactly where everything is. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s usually a relative sitting in the corner or someone bringing over lunch from home. We don't have a board of directors or anything like that. We just have our customers who have been coming to us since their parents were young. The floor is old stone, and the ceiling fans hum constantly to keep the heat at bay. It’s a busy life on Astodia Road, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We just take the orders as they come and try to do a solid job. No big promises, just real work from people who know their way around a needle and thread and understand local styles.
