Our office for Icmr is tucked away in Archana House, number 387 A6, on the 3rd Cross in Annasandrapalya. It’s right near the HAL post office area. Bangalore is famous for its traffic, and believe me, it’s true around here too. But once you find the right cross and get inside the building, it’s a lot more relaxed. It’s a simple space with a few rooms and a small balcony where we keep some plants. We don’t have any of that fancy modern office furniture. We use the same desks we’ve had for years because they still work fine. Most of us get to work on our bikes and park them out front. The neighborhood is mostly families and other small businesses. You can hear the hum of the city all day, but we’re used to it. We don’t go in for big meetings with presentations. We usually just sit around the main table with some coffee and talk about what needs to get done. If you’re looking for us, you just have to keep an eye out for the house number because it’s easy to miss. We like being in this part of Bangalore. It feels like a real community, not like those big industrial parks on the edge of town. We just keep things moving, answer the phones, and handle the day-to-day tasks without any big fuss or corporate talk. It's just a normal place for us to work.
