Icici Bank Ltd

This branch of Icici Bank Ltd is right on No 1 Vani Vilas Road. If you know Basavanagudi, you know how busy it gets around here. We open up the shutters every morning and usually there are a few people already waiting outside near the entrance. Bangalore weather is mostly okay but some days the sun really hits the front of the building. Inside, it is just a normal office setup with desks and chairs. We spend most of the day looking at screens or talking to folks who live in the neighborhood. Some people come in just to update their books or ask about something they saw on their phone. There are a few trees along the road that give a bit of shade in the afternoon. It is not a huge place, just a regular branch where we try to get through the paperwork. Anyway, sometimes the tea man comes by and that is the highlight of the mid-morning break. We see the same faces often since many people have lived in this part of Bangalore for a long time. It stays pretty loud outside with all the honking and the buses passing by. We just keep the door shut to keep the dust out. It’s a plain place, nothing fancy, just where people handle their money stuff. Most of our day is spent counting or typing things into the system at Icici Bank Ltd. I suppose it just feels like a small part of the local life here.
