Horticulture Information Centre

The Horticulture Information Centre is situated right on Lalbagh Road. To be more specific, we are at 12th Main on Dr Rajkumar Road in the 6th Block area. It’s a well-known part of town because of the greenery around Lalbagh, so it makes sense for us to be here. We keep a lot of records and information about different plant species and how to take care of them. People come in when they want to learn something specific or if they are looking for data on local farming practices. The 6th Block is usually buzzing with activity, so there is always something going on outside our windows. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves of information and a few desks where we work. It’s a bit of an old-school setup, but it serves the purpose. We spend our time updating files or answering questions for visitors who wander in from the street. The walk from the main road is nice because of the trees that line the path. Sometimes the traffic on Dr Rajkumar Road can be a bit loud, but once you are inside, you tend to tune it out. We aren't here to sell anything, just to provide the facts and the details that people are looking for when it comes to horticulture. It’s a steady job and we see a lot of different people who are just interested in making things grow properly.
