Our office is at 261 Shanbog Kv Narayan Rao Nilaya in Bangalore. It’s a residential-style building in Karnataka 560073, which gives Holistic Space Designs Pvt Ltd a very different feel than if we were in a big office park. It feels more like a home. We have our drafting tables set up in the main rooms, and there are always rolls of drawings leaning against the corners. The lighting isn't always perfect, so we use a lot of desk lamps when it gets dark. Bangalore is a big city, but our little corner feels a bit more relaxed. We spend our days looking at layouts and talking about space, fittingly enough. The building has a small porch where we sometimes sit for a break. It's an honest place to work. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If the bell rings, one of us just gets up to answer it. There’s usually a pot of coffee going in the back. We like the quiet of Narayan Rao Nilaya because it lets us focus on the details of what we're designing. It’s a lot of sitting and thinking, and then a lot of drawing. We’ve been here long enough that the walls have some scuffs from moving furniture around, but that just shows we’re actually working. It’s just us, doing our thing in a regular Bangalore house, making sure every line on the paper is where it should be.
