Our shop is on Palace Guttahalli Road, right near the Gurukul Road junction at number 24. We spend most of our days dealing with wood samples, paint buckets, and measuring tapes. It is a bit of a mess in the workspace sometimes because there is always something being cut or planned out on the tables. We do things like kitchen cupboards, wardrobes, and fixing up living rooms for people living in the apartments nearby. It is not just about making things look okay; it is about making sure the hinges do not squeak and the laminate does not start peeling off after a few months. We visit a lot of houses around here to take measurements and see what the space actually looks like. Often, the walls are not perfectly straight, which makes the fitting work a bit tricky for the guys. We talk to the carpenters and the painters every morning to make sure everyone knows what needs doing for the day. It is loud and dusty work, but that is the job we do. Some days we are stuck waiting for materials to arrive on a truck, and other days we are rushing to finish a site before the family moves in. We are just a small team working out of this space. If you walk past, you will probably hear the sound of a drill or see someone loading plywood onto a rickshaw out front. (252 words)
