Freelance

We are over on New Baiyyappanahalli Extension, just off Old Madras Road in Bangalore. It’s a 100 New Baiyyappanahalli address. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, but it’s where Freelance runs from. We started here because the rent was decent and it was easy for everyone to get to. The traffic around the extension can be pretty rough during peak hours, so we usually try to get in early. It’s a small team. We don’t have those fancy open-plan offices you see in the tech parks. It’s more of a traditional setup with some old desks and a fridge that makes a weird humming sound. We’ve been in this part of Bangalore for a few years now. You can see the metro construction and the changing skyline from the roof if you go up there for a break. It feels like a real neighborhood, with kids playing in the street and small shops on every corner. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just do our work and keep to ourselves mostly. Sometimes the internet acts up, and we all just sit around and talk until it comes back. It's a low-key environment. No dress codes or formal meetings. We just get through the day's tasks and head home. That’s pretty much us, just a simple office in a busy part of the city.
