Frame Of Mind

Our place is right on 100 Feet Road in HAL 2nd Stage, which means we spend a good chunk of our day just listening to the traffic outside. If you know the 368 4 building near the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited area, you know the parking is always a bit of a nightmare, but we’ve managed to stay here regardless. Inside, it is a bit of a mess most of the time. We have stacks of materials leaning against the walls and tools scattered across the back counter. It is not the kind of office you see in magazines, but it works for us. Usually, one of us is trying to fix the light fixture that flickers while someone else is actually getting some work done. We get a lot of people walking in just to ask for directions because of where we are located on such a busy street. Sometimes we stay late when a big project is due, and the whole neighborhood gets quiet for once. The air conditioner makes this weird humming sound that we have stopped noticing after all these years. We are not big on meetings; we usually just shout across the room if something needs to happen. It is a small crew and we have all known each other for a long time. It feels like a second home, even with the peeling paint in the corner and the squeaky front door.
