Field Chemist

Field Chemist is based out of K S Town in Bangalore, specifically at 2124, 6th D Cross. The names on the door are Malappa J Hotti and T J Johnson. It’s more of a workspace than a fancy office. We deal with a lot of testing and chemical analysis, so you’ll see equipment, glass jars, and samples lying around most of the time. We aren't the type of place where you’ll find people in suits and ties. We’re usually in our work gear, trying to figure out a specific problem for a client. The neighborhood is a mix of houses and small businesses. It can get a bit crowded on the street with parked scooters and delivery trucks coming in and out. We’ve been working out of this spot for years. It’s where we feel most comfortable getting the actual work done. We don't spend much on advertising or making the place look pretty. Most of our work comes from people who heard about us from someone else. When a sample comes in, we just get to it. Sometimes the lab work takes a long time and we’re here late into the evening. It’s just the nature of what we do. We like the hands-on part of being chemists. It’s not always clean work, and it can smell a bit like a lab, but it’s interesting and it keeps us busy every day. We just focus on the science and the results.
