Ernst Young

The Ernst Young office is tucked away at NE 12 in the New Housing Colony inside the Indian Institute of Science campus in Bangalore. It is a very different atmosphere here compared to the rest of the city. There are so many trees around that it stays a bit cooler than the main roads, and you actually hear birds instead of just honking cars all day long. The housing colony is quiet and mostly residential, so we try to keep our voices down when we are coming and going. The space itself is quite basic. We have the usual computers and chairs, and a small area where we keep the kettle for coffee and tea. It is not a large operation, just a handful of us handling the daily requirements. The walk from the main gate takes a while if you don’t have a vehicle, but the greenery makes it pleasant enough. We often see students and professors walking by while we are at our desks. It doesn’t feel like a high-pressure corporate environment at all. It is more of a steady, calm place to get things finished. Sometimes the internet acts up when it rains heavily, but we manage to get by. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that. We just know where we need to be and what needs to be done. It is a very peaceful corner of the city to spend a workday. We usually pack up and head out once the campus starts getting quiet in the evening.
