We are based in Bangalore, specifically in the 560017 zip code area. This is the Global Shared Services side of Ernst And Young. If you’ve spent any time in Bangalore, you know about the traffic and the weather. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the rain and the long commutes, but the office itself is a pretty solid place to be. It’s a big operation here with people working on all sorts of different tasks for offices all over the map. There’s a lot of chatter in the hallways and the sound of keyboards clicking is pretty much constant. We have a lot of coffee machines because everyone here seems to need a boost to get through the early shifts or the late nights. The building is large, and it can be easy to get lost if you’re new. We don’t have many windows that open, so we rely on the hum of the AC all day long. Lunchtimes are usually loud with everyone talking about their weekend plans or the latest traffic jam on the way in. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't; we are just a large group of people trying to keep the systems running and the data sorted correctly. It’s a lot of routine, but we’ve got a good rhythm going. Sometimes we stay late when things get busy, but that’s just how this kind of work is. We keep the coffee flowing and the computers running until the job is done.
