The Sai Industrial Estate in Domlur is where you’ll find us. We are at number 585. It’s a busy area with a lot of trucks moving in and out all day long. We deal with a lot of bulk items, so there are always boxes stacked up near the entrance. Most of the work involves checking inventory and making sure the counts are right. It’s a big warehouse-style space with high ceilings and heavy shelving. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks from years of moving heavy stuff around. We have a small corner with a couple of chairs where we sit to talk to vendors. It gets quite hot in the mid-afternoons, so the big fans are always running. We’ve been in this spot for quite a while now. The staff knows exactly where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to an outsider. We get a lot of deliveries early in the morning, so the day starts before the sun is fully up sometimes. There’s a small shop nearby that makes the best coffee, and we usually take turns going there. It’s a practical environment. We don’t spend much time on decorations; it’s all about the supplies and getting them where they need to go. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a big order. It’s hard work, but we are used to it. The back door stays propped open with a brick to let a breeze through. We go through a lot of pens and clipboards every single month.
