We are located at 53 1 on 19th Cross in Bangalore. This is the office for the Directorate Of Urban Land Transport. Being in Bangalore, especially in an area like this, means we are always thinking about traffic and roads, even when we are just looking out the window. The office is a basic building on a typical 19th Cross street. It is not one of those new glass buildings you see in the tech parks. It is older and has a bit more character, for better or worse. The pin code is 560023, and it is a pretty central place to be for Karnataka’s transport matters. Inside, it is mostly just desks and computers and a lot of maps. It gets a bit dusty because of the construction that is always happening somewhere nearby in Bangalore. We do not have a fancy cafeteria or anything, just a small tea stall nearby where everyone goes. The lift can be a bit temperamental sometimes, so most of us just take the stairs. It is a very functional space. We are not here to impress anyone with the decor. We are just here to handle the land transport work. It is a busy office with people constantly moving around and talking about urban planning. It feels like a real workspace where things actually happen, even if it looks a bit plain from the outside.
