Central Power Research Institute

The Central Power Research Institute sits on C V Raman Road in Sadashiva Nagar, specifically at 8066. It is a huge campus with lots of old trees that provide a lot of shade, which is nice when you have to walk between the different lab buildings. The place has been around for a long time, and you can tell by the way the buildings are designed. It feels very solid and a bit old-fashioned. We spend our days testing electrical equipment like huge insulators and transformers to make sure they won't fail when people use them in the real world. You can often hear a low hum coming from the high voltage labs if you stand near the windows. The security at the front gate is a bit strict, but the guards are friendly once they recognize your face and your car. We have a canteen where everyone goes for lunch, and it’s usually the same few dishes every day, but it’s cheap and fills you up. It’s a very quiet and academic sort of atmosphere here. People are mostly focused on their measurements and their data. We don't have many visitors except for the occasional engineer coming to watch a test or look at the equipment. It’s a bit out of the way from the main city rush, which makes it a peaceful place to work. We just keep testing and checking things, making sure the power grid stays safe for everyone who depends on it.
