We’re located at Number 2, which used to be Old Number 39, on 3rd Cross in Bangalore. It’s right there in the 560084 zip code area of Karnataka. Being in Bangalore, we deal with the usual stuff—mostly the traffic and the unpredictable rain that catches everyone off guard. Ascent Manpower Solutions is basically just us sitting in a room trying to match people with jobs they can actually do. It sounds simple but there is a lot of paperwork involved. The office is on a regular street, nothing fancy or high-rise about it. We have a few desks, some chairs for people who come in for interviews, and a water cooler that always seems to need refilling. It’s a busy place because there are always people looking for work and companies looking for help. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or typing up resumes. It’s honest work. We don’t have a big lobby or a coffee machine that makes fancy lattes; we just have a kettle and some instant coffee. The neighborhood is okay, a mix of houses and small businesses. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors know us by name. It’s a bit cramped when we have more than three people waiting, but we make it work. Most days are just a steady stream of phone calls and emails that we try to answer as fast as we can.
