Sri Balaji Minerals

Sri Balaji Minerals is over at 1-17 Aswinin Nilaya, on the 2nd Cross of JP Nagar in Hospet. Being in the Bellary district, we are right in the heart of the mineral belt in Karnataka. The house we work out of is a regular building in a residential-looking area, which makes it feel more like a home than a stiff office. We have been here for a while and the 583201 pin code is home to us. Our day usually starts with a lot of phone calls to the mines and the transport contractors. There is always someone coming in or out with a delivery slip or a question about a load. We don't have any polished speeches or mission statements posted on the walls. We just have a calendar with dates marked off and a lot of dusty samples of minerals on the shelves. The people who work here are mostly neighbors or friends of friends. We know the shortcuts through Hospet to avoid the heavy traffic and we know where to get the best tiffin in the morning. Sometimes the rains make the roads a mess and we have to wait it out, but that’s part of the trade. We aren't a giant corporation, just a local outfit doing our part in the minerals business. If you stop by, you’ll probably find us sorting through papers or drinking a quick cup of coffee before the next truck arrives.
