National Mineral Development Corp. Ltd.

Down here at the Donimalai Iron Ore Mine, things are pretty centered around the township. We’re part of the National Mineral Development Corp. Ltd., specifically in the Management Services Department. The office is where the Manager of Industrial Engineering sits, and we handle the day-to-day coordination for the mine operations. Donimalai Township is a bit of a world of its own out here in the Bellary district. It’s got a 583118 pin code and it’s surrounded by the red dust of the iron ore. It isn't a city job with air-conditioned malls nearby. It’s practical, dusty, and very focused on the minerals coming out of the ground. We spend a lot of time looking at schedules and trying to make the mine run a bit smoother. It’s a government setup, so there’s a lot of paperwork, but we’re used to it. The township is where we live and work, so the colleagues are also the neighbors. We don't have a marketing department writing fancy stories about us. We just do the IE work for NMDC. Bellary can get incredibly hot, but the work doesn't stop. We’ve got our routines and our systems. It’s honest work in a tough environment. If you’re looking for the Management Services Dept, you just head into the township and ask for the NMDC office. We’ll likely be there sorting out the latest reports and keeping the mining side of things on track.
