M/S Kalyani Gerdau Steels Limited, Bangalore, India

We are located over on Bellary Road in Hospet. Specifically, we operate out of Harsha Nilaya in JP Nagar, 1st Cross. It’s a house belonging to S. Sridhara, and we share space with Veerabhadra Gouda. Hospet is a real steel and mining town, so it gets quite dusty and hot around here. Working for Kalyani Gerdau Steels means we are right in the middle of all that action. It isn't a fancy corporate headquarters by any means. It’s more of a practical base where we can keep an eye on what’s happening at the plants and the mines. The roads around here can be pretty rough with all the heavy trucks moving back and forth all day. We spend a lot of time coordinating between different departments. We don't use any marketing speak or try to sound like we’re something we aren't. We are just a group of people working in the steel industry. Most of the guys here wear boots and dusty clothes because that’s the kind of work it is. We have a small kitchen in the back where we make tea and lunch. It’s a simple setup but it works for us. Living and working in Hospet requires some grit, and we’ve got plenty of that. We just focus on the steel and making sure the numbers add up at the end of the day. It's hard work but it's what we do.
