Harshavardana Farm Industries Private Limited is run out of House No. 79 in Ballari. We are in Ward 30, Kuvempu Nagar. It is a regular house, really. We turned part of it into our workspace because it made the most sense for us starting out. The weather here in Ballari gets pretty hot, so we usually try to get most of the heavy thinking done in the mornings before it gets too stuffy. We deal with farm industry stuff every day. It’s not always exciting, but it’s what we know. People in the neighborhood know where we are. We see the same faces every morning when we open up. We don't spend a lot on fancy signs or furniture. Most of our desks are just old tables we’ve had for years. It’s a bit crowded with all the papers and files, but we know where everything is. Working from a house means we don't have that cold office feel. You can hear the neighbors and the kids playing outside. Sometimes it's a bit distracting, but it reminds us of why we’re doing this. Karnataka is a big place for farming, and being in this part of the state keeps us close to what’s happening on the ground. We don't have a big marketing budget. We just talk to people. That seems to work better anyway. It’s just a few of us trying to keep things running. We don't have fancy titles either.
