If you come down College Road, you’ll find us in the L B Mugalakod Building. It’s right near the C Nmugalakod School, so you can hear the kids playing and the bells ringing all through the day. Raita Spandana Krushi Vikas Farmers Producer Company Limited is what we call ourselves. We started this because there are so many farmers in this part of the country needing a central spot. The office is just a couple of rooms with some basic furniture. It gets quite loud when school lets out and all the parents are picking up their children. We mostly deal with local crops and try to help each other out with getting things sorted for the season. The road outside can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up, but it’s a good location because everyone passes by here at some point. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just talking to people who walk in. It's not a corporate setup at all; there are usually some bags of grain or seeds sitting in the corner. We don't have a secretary, we just answer the door ourselves. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot of paperwork to finish, but usually, we head home once it gets dark. It’s a practical way to run things, and it works for us and the people around here who are just trying to farm.
