About Raja Bricks – Building & Construction Material in Balasore
You can find us on the Main Road in Dohopada. We are situated very close to the government school here. Most people just use the school as a landmark to get to our yard. We’ve been running Raja Bricks for quite some time now. It’s a simple setup without any bells or whistles. We have the area where we mix the red soil and the open spots where the bricks dry in the sun. It involves a lot of waiting for things to dry out. If the humidity is high, the whole process takes forever. We just have to be patient and wait it out. I spend my days checking on the workers and making sure the trucks are loaded correctly before they leave. Sometimes the kids from the school pass by after class and wave to us. It’s a quiet village mostly, which we like. We don’t use any fancy machines here; almost everything is still done by hand. It’s hard on the back and the shoulders but it’s the way we’ve always done things. We sell the bricks to anyone who needs them for a new project. We don’t have a big office, just a small stool and a wooden table under a tin roof to keep the sun off. We drink a lot of tea and just keep going until the work is finished. The business isn't complicated. If you make a good product, people will buy it. We are just a local family.
