Om Flyash Bricks

Om Flyash Bricks is located in a small place called Purinia. To get here, you have to come through Baisinga in the Mayurbhanj district. It is a quiet, rural area where most people know each other. We started this brickyard because we saw a need for better building materials in the local villages. Making fly ash bricks is what we do all day long. We have a set of machines that mix and press the materials, and then we leave them out to cure. It’s a lot of work that depends on the weather. If the monsoon hits hard, it’s difficult to keep the bricks dry and moving. We have a small group of local workers who help with the heavy lifting and the stacking. Our yard is usually filled with rows and rows of bricks. We don't have a fancy office or any corporate structure. It’s just a practical business focused on getting the work done. Mayurbhanj is a beautiful place, but the work here is tough and dirty. We don't have a marketing plan or a big budget. Most of our orders come from local builders who just show up at the gate. We try to keep our prices where the average person can afford them. It’s a basic life, working with the earth and the ash to create something solid. We just keep our heads down and try to produce a decent product for our neighbors.
