Relaxo Footwears

Down here at No. 327 in Mie, things stay moving pretty fast most of the time. It’s a big industrial area and there’s always trucks moving in and out of the gates. Our place at Relaxo Footwears is basically a large workspace where we handle the footwear production. It isn't the quietest spot to spend a day, but that’s the nature of being in this Mie Mie Mie location. We have a lot of different sections for cutting and finishing. The guys on the floor know their jobs well, and we’ve been at this address long enough that everyone in the area knows where we are. We don't really have a showroom or anything like that here; it’s mostly just the heavy lifting and the actual making of the shoes. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving crates around and the office is just a small corner with a wooden desk and a few chairs. We drink a lot of tea from the stall just down the road to keep going. It gets dusty because of all the construction nearby, so we’re always sweeping up. When the monsoon hits, the road outside gets a bit muddy, but we still get the work done. It’s a practical setup for what we do. We just focus on getting the crates filled and shipped out to the retailers who sell them. It’s a simple life in the factory for all of us.
