Jaat Brick Field

Started this place at Saroorpur Kalan because there was plenty of space and the soil worked for what we needed. We are situated right near the Goffa Temple, so you can usually hear the bells in the evening. You can see the smoke from our kiln when we are burning a new batch of bricks. It is hard work out here in the sun every day, and it gets quite dusty. Most of the time it is just me and the workers making sure the rows are stacked straight and even. We do not have a big fancy office or a lobby for people to sit in. It is just the brick field and the sheds. People from the area come by and ask for a load, and we just get it ready for them. Sometimes the heavy rain slows us down and everything turns to thick mud, but that is just part of this business. We have been in this spot for a good while now. The stacks of red bricks get pretty high during the busy months before the monsoon hits. It is mostly just about keeping the fire at the right temperature and getting the cooling right. We do not do much advertising, mostly people just know we are here by the temple. It is a simple setup. We wake up early, check the kiln, and start the day. The trucks come in and out on the dirt path all afternoon. It is messy but it is what we do.
