Pharmist

Being over here in N-4 Cidco means we see a lot of people moving around Aurangabad throughout the day. The shop, Pharmist, is tucked away in this part of the city where things feel a bit more settled. It’s mostly rows of glass bottles and boxes behind the counter. We spend a lot of our time reading through the handwriting on those small scraps of paper people bring in. It takes a bit of focus to make sure everything matches up right. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it clean, but people bring in the dirt from the street all day long. Sometimes someone comes in just asking what to do for a scrape or a small cough, and we tell them what we have on the shelf. It’s not a big place. The light from the tube lights reflects off the medicine strips. In the afternoons, when it’s really hot outside, the shop feels like a little cool spot to stand for a minute. We keep the fridge humming in the corner for the things that need to stay cold. Usually, it’s just the sound of the fan and the occasional motorbike passing by outside. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. People stop by on their way home from work to pick up their monthly supplies. It’s just how things go here. We don't have any big flashy signs, just the name on the front. We stay open pretty late most nights.
