L. S. Engineering

Our shop is located at Gala No. 9 in the Suvarna Laghu Yojna, right in the middle of the MIDC Area in Chikalthana. It’s a proper industrial area, so there’s always a lot of noise from the grinders and the sound of metal being moved around. L. S. Engineering has been in this particular gala for a long time. It’s not a huge space, so we have to be smart about where we put the raw steel and the finished parts so we don't trip over them. There is usually a bit of oil on the concrete floor and plenty of heavy tools scattered across the workbenches. We mostly focus on the mechanical side of things, making small parts or repairing bits of machines for the bigger factories around us. The heat in the MIDC can be really tough in the summer, and the tin roof doesn’t do much to stop it. We have a couple of large fans that we keep running to try and stay cool while we work. Most of our team has been doing this for years, so they know exactly what to do without being told. We just get the sketches and get started. Lunch is usually a quick break sitting on a crate or a stool in the corner. We don't have a fancy office upstairs, just a small desk for the paperwork. It’s hard work, and the smell of grease is just part of the day. We stay busy with whatever local orders come in.
