Kiran Engineering Works

We are located at G- 4 in the MIDC area of Chikalthana. It is a typical engineering workshop. You will hear the sound of metal being cut and the hum of the lathes as soon as you walk in. The air smells like oil and iron filings. We have a few big machines that take up most of the floor space, and there is always a pile of metal scraps in the corner waiting to be cleared out. It is not a clean place, your hands will get black if you touch anything, but that is the nature of the work we do. We mostly handle small parts and repair jobs for other factories nearby. The office is just a wooden cabin built into one side of the shed where we keep the blueprints and the old telephone. It gets very hot under the tin roof during the middle of the day, so we usually take a longer break then. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that; people usually just hear about us from other folks in the industrial estate. We’ve had the same workers for years, and we all know how the old machines have their own temperamental streaks. It is honest work and it keeps the lights on. Sometimes we have to work through the night to finish a job on time, but that is just part of it.
