Our place, Shreegopa Concrete Pvt. Ltd., is located near Raniganj in the Paschim Bardhaman district. This region is known for its industrial feel and coal mines, so the air and the ground always seem to have that specific grit to it. We deal with concrete products every day, which means there is a lot of mixing, pouring, and setting going on in our yard. It is a noisy environment with the sound of engines and metal clanking, but we have gotten used to it over the years. The roads around Raniganj can be quite rough, filled with heavy lorries, so getting our products out to customers requires some careful planning. We don't spend money on fancy signs or a big storefront. Instead, we have a functional space where we produce what's needed. The workers here are mostly locals who have been doing this for a long time. They know the materials inside out. We deal with the heat of the summer and the humidity that makes everything feel heavy. It’s not an easy job, and at the end of the day, everyone is usually tired and ready to head home. We just try to keep the supply steady for the local building projects. There's always a lot of paperwork to deal with, usually piled up on a desk in the corner of the small room we use for an office. It’s just how we run things here. There's no use in making it seem like something it isn't.
