Petant Steels

Our place, Petant Steels, is out on Rajpipla Road in the Gidc area of Ankleshwar. We are quite near the Ongc Colony, which is a big landmark around here. Being in an industrial zone means there is always dust and the sound of big engines. Our building is a big shed mostly. It gets very hot under the metal roof during the summer months. We have some fans but they mostly just move the warm air around. We start early to get the heavy work done before the midday heat hits us. The yard is usually full of material waiting to go out. We have a small cabin for the office work where we keep the ledgers and the phone. It’s not very organized but we know where everything is. You can see the trucks lining up on Rajpipla Road from our front gate. Ankleshwar is a busy place for industry and we are just one part of it. We don’t have any fancy displays or sales people. If you come by, you’ll see us in our work clothes just getting on with the day’s tasks. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit during the lunch break if there’s a breeze coming from the open fields nearby. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don't spend much time on the computer, mostly we just talk to people face to face or on the phone. The gate stays open until six and then we head home to beat the worst of the traffic.
