Shree Arbuda Foundry

At Plot No. 243, you’ll find Shree Arbuda Foundry. It’s a place that smells of hot metal and damp sand most of the time. Working in a foundry isn't for everyone, I suppose. It’s heavy, physical work, and you definitely go home feeling tired every single day. We don't have a big corporate structure here; it's just the owner and the guys who know how to handle the molds and the molten metal safely. We’ve been at this plot for a long time, and the building definitely shows its age, but it does the job just fine for us. The walls are stained with soot, and the floor is never really level, but that doesn't stop us from getting the castings done correctly. We don't bother with fancy slogans or big advertisements in the paper. Most people find us because they know what we do or they’ve seen our name painted on the gate over the years. It gets incredibly hot in the afternoons near the furnace, so we take our breaks when we can and drink plenty of water to stay upright. There’s a lot of skill involved in making sure the metal pours right and the shapes come out of the molds looking like they should. It’s a lot of trial and error sometimes, but we’ve got a good handle on the process now. It’s just a small, gritty operation that keeps moving forward.
