Operating out of Plot No. 221-222 in the Gidc Estate means we are right in the thick of things. It is a chemical unit, so there are always drums sitting around and the faint smell of whatever we are mixing that day. Most of the guys wear heavy boots and gloves because you can't be too careful with this stuff. The tanks are old but they still do the job. We spend a lot of time just measuring out ingredients and watching the gauges. It isn't very exciting work, honestly. Most days involve just checking the temperatures and making sure the barrels are sealed right before they go out on the truck. The yard is a bit cramped because we have to keep so many empty containers ready for the next batch. When it rains, the area around the estate gets a bit muddy, which makes loading the products a real pain. We have a small cabin for the paperwork where the fan squeaks all day long. Nobody here wears a suit. We are usually covered in some kind of powder or liquid by noon. We just keep our heads down and get the batches finished. It has been this way for a while now and we are used to the routine of the estate. It is just about getting the product mixed right and moving it out the door.
