Our place, Vedanta Chem Pvt. Ltd., is over at Plot No. 24, which is right across from that big housing society near the Sardar Park Crossing. It’s a decent spot to work, even if the crossing gets completely backed up with cars and buses every single afternoon. Manorath Company is right there too, so it’s a busy little pocket of the neighborhood. We spend most of our time in the back warehouse or taking calls about different chemical batches that need to go out. It’s not the kind of place with a big reception area or shiny carpets. We have desks that have seen better days and a lot of old paperwork piled up in the corners. The guys in the back are usually the ones doing the heavy lifting and loading. It can get pretty loud when the delivery trucks are backing up, but you get used to the noise after a week or two. We started out small and just stayed in this area because it’s easy for the staff to get to. Most of us live close by anyway, so the commute isn't too bad. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the transporters to show up. Sometimes things are slow and we just chat, other times we can’t even catch a breath because everything needs to move at once. It’s just a regular business. We don't try to be anything special, we just handle the work.
