Our place is at Plot No. 6412 and it is always full of different colors. Since we work with pigments and dyes, you can see bits of blue or red on the doorknobs and even on the floor of the breakroom. It is just the nature of the business we are in. We have a few mixing machines that make a lot of noise, so we often have to shout a bit to be heard when they are running at full speed. The office is just a tiny space partitioned off with some thick plywood and a glass window. We keep the registers there along with a few sample cards for the customers. It is a bit of a walk to the main road from here, so we usually bring our lunch from home and eat together on the wooden benches outside when the weather is decent enough. There are a lot of stray dogs that hang around the estate and we usually give them some scraps from our tiffin boxes. The work is repetitive but it requires a lot of real attention to detail to get the shades exactly right. If we mess up a batch, it is a lot of waste, so we try to be very careful even when we are tired at the end of the day. We are not trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to do our job at Plot 6412 and go home to our families. The roof is made of corrugated metal, so when it rains, it is incredibly loud inside the building. You cannot even hear yourself think during a storm.
