National Engineering

National Engineering is based over at Plot No. 5122. It’s a straightforward machine shop environment. You’ll hear the sound of metal hitting metal and the grind of the lathes from the moment we open the shutters in the morning. We don't have a fancy showroom or a lobby with chairs. Usually, there are just parts and scraps of iron laying around where we are working. The floor is stained with oil, which is pretty much expected in an engineering place. We spend most of our time looking at blueprints or fixing a machine that decided to stop working. It’s hard on the hands, and we usually go home with grease under our fingernails. We’ve been at this plot for a while now. The space is a bit tight when we have a big project going on, but we manage. We aren't much for talking; we'd rather just get the welding or the cutting done. Sometimes the weather makes it tough to work, especially when it’s raining hard on the tin roof, but we keep at it. Customers usually come to us because they know where we are located and they know we don't mess around with small talk. We just give them a fair price and tell them when it will be ready. It’s a basic operation, run by people who have spent their whole lives around tools and heavy machinery.
