Mechelein Engineers

We’ve been here at Plot No. 5727 for a while now. Most people know us because we’re right near the Seven Water Tank, which makes it easy to give directions. It gets pretty loud in the shop during the day with all the machines running, but that is just how it is. We start early in the morning, usually before the sun gets too high. There is always a lot of dust and bits of metal on the floor by noon. We spend most of our time dealing with mechanical parts and figuring out how to get things to fit together right. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because a part is stuck or the measurements are just slightly off. It’s not fancy work. Our hands are usually dirty by ten o’clock. We have a small table in the corner where we drink tea and talk about what needs to be finished before the weekend. The roof leaks a little when it rains hard, but we moved the workbench so it doesn’t matter much. People stop by to ask for help with small repairs or just to see if we have a specific bolt in the bins. We keep things organized in our own way, even if it looks messy to someone else. It is a solid place to work and we just keep at it day after day without too much fuss.
