Down at Plot No. 7503, things are usually pretty steady. We deal with various chemicals and glycols, so there are always drums and containers moving around the yard. It’s a bit of a maze of pipes and storage tanks if you aren’t used to it. The sun hits the metal pretty hard in the afternoons, making the whole place feel like an oven sometimes. We don’t have a big reception area or anything. If someone shows up, they usually just find one of us in the loading area. Working with these materials means we have to be careful and follow the steps every single time. It’s repetitive work, but it’s what we do. The paperwork piles up on the small desk inside the gatehouse, mostly just logbooks and delivery notes. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but our plot stays mostly the same. We talk about the traffic or what’s happening in town. It isn’t a glamorous job, but it’s steady work for the crew.
