Down at Plot No. A-2, 4006, things move at their own pace. We’re in the chemical business, so we have to be a bit more careful about how we store things and how we move around the floor. It’s not a place where you’d want to wear your Sunday best. There are blue drums everywhere and plenty of labels that tell you exactly what you’re looking at. We’ve been at this for a while now under the name Anmol Chemicals. The building is a sturdy one, mostly just open space inside to make it easier for the forklifts to get around. We have a small office tucked in one corner where we keep the logs and take calls, but it’s mostly empty because everyone is out back. The lighting isn't great, but we know where the switches are. It gets pretty loud when the ventilation fans are going full blast, which is almost all the time. We don't do much in the way of decoration; the walls are mostly bare except for a calendar and a few safety posters that have been there forever. We just focus on mixing and packing whatever is on the list for that day. We often have to wait on shipments of raw materials that come in late, but that's just part of life in Gujarat. It’s a busy spot, but we like the routine of it all. Most of the people working here have been with us for a long time.
