Devima Stone

Located over on Anekal Road near the APC Circle, our yard is usually covered in a fine layer of grey stone dust. Being in the Jigani Industrial Area means there is always a lot of noise from the neighboring factories and the heavy lorries passing by. We spend our days moving big slabs of stone around with the crane or cutting them down to size with the water saws. It’s a bit of a rough environment, and you definitely need your boots on when you walk through the warehouse. We deal with all sorts of stone, and the guys spend a lot of time checking the edges and the surfaces for any cracks. It isn't the kind of place where things stay shiny for long because of the work we do. We are right there at 649, and it’s a busy spot with people coming in to check the inventory or drivers picking up orders for construction sites nearby. Some days the machines act up or the power goes out, which is just part of being in Jigani. We don't have a big polished showroom with air conditioning; it’s just a practical workspace where we get the cutting and loading done. The sun gets pretty hot out on the yard, but we keep at it until the sun goes down and the last truck leaves the circle. It’s hard work, but we are used to the grind.
