Umiya Marble

We’ve been running Umiya Marble in Vasad for some time now. It’s right here in the village, near the post office. People around Anand know us because we keep things pretty simple. Marble is heavy work, and our yard is always full of slabs coming and going. Sometimes it’s dusty, and the tea stays on the table too long because we’re busy talking to someone about their new floor. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of stone. If you come by, you’ll see the guys moving pieces around or cutting things to size. It’s a lot of physical labor, but that’s how it is here in Vasad. We started out small and stayed that way, just focusing on getting the marble out to whoever needs it. Most of our days are spent checking the stock or making sure the trucks can get in and out of the space without getting stuck. It’s nothing like those big showrooms in the city. We just know our stone and we know the people who live around here. If someone needs a bit of marble for a kitchen or a whole house, we just show them what we have on the ground. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till the sun goes down.
