We set up Sai Salaj Foods over on Station Road in Anand Nagar. It’s pretty close to Lokhandi Pool, which is a landmark everyone around here uses to find their way. Being near the station means there is always people moving around and noise from the trains. We handle food products here, mostly packing and getting things ready for people to buy. It’s a small operation. The place smells like spices and grains depending on what we are working on that day. My family helps out with most of the tasks. We aren’t some big factory with a thousand workers. It’s just a few of us making sure the bags are sealed and the items look alright before they go out. Sometimes the delivery rickshaws get stuck in traffic near the bridge, which can be a bit of a headache. We don't have any shiny brochures or a big marketing team. We just focus on the food and the local customers who know where to find us. Usually, I'm here from early morning till late evening. We have some shelves in the front and a storage area in the back that stays pretty crowded. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, but we make it work. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a bit now, and we just keep doing our thing without much fuss every single day for the community.
