Shivam Parotha House

Shivam Parotha House is tucked away in GIDC Phase 1 of Vithal Udyognagar. We’re right at plot number 37, near the gayatri iron industries. Because we’re in an industrial area, most of our customers are the guys working in the factories nearby. They come in for a quick lunch or something to eat before they head home to Anand. We focus mostly on parothas because that’s what people want when they’ve been working hard all day. We keep the dough ready and cook them on the tawa as soon as someone orders. It’s a small shop, and it gets a bit smoky when we’re busy, but nobody seems to mind much. I’ve been running this place for a long time now. My son helps me out when he’s not at his own job. We don’t have a fancy menu with photos or anything. We just have a board where we write what’s available that day. Sometimes we have a special vegetable dish to go with the parothas, and sometimes it’s just plain curd and pickle. It’s not the kind of place you’d go for a romantic date, but if you’re hungry and want something that feels like it was made at home, we’re here. The chairs are just plastic, and the tables are simple, but we keep everything clean. It’s a busy life, but we like the people who come in. We just stay here and keep the stove hot for the workers.
