Gujarat Engineering Works

You can find us at Plot No. 27-29 in the G.I.D.C. Estate over in Kansari. This part of the industrial estate is where we’ve been operating Gujarat Engineering Works for a good many years. It’s a wide-open area compared to some of the city shops, which gives us some breathing room. Our facility is basically a large shed with high ceilings and plenty of heavy machinery. We do a lot of traditional engineering work here. There’s no air conditioning on the shop floor, so we rely on the breeze when it comes through. Most of the staff has been working with metal since they were young. We have a rhythm to how we do things, and it doesn't change much from day to day. We don't have a polished website or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. Usually, if the phone rings, someone just wipes their hands on a rag and picks it up. We get a lot of iron dust on our clothes by the time the shift is over. It’s a simple life of making parts and fixing machines. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the look of the place. It’s just a working factory where things get built and sent out to the people who need them. Most days we are too busy to notice the time passing.
