You will find Behal Trading Co. at units 31 and 32 in the Sabji Mandi over in Vallah. It is a place that starts moving long before the sun comes up. If you come by at noon, things are already winding down for the day, but at four in the morning, it is the busiest place on earth. We have been operating from these two stalls for a long time. It is a lot of shouting, hauling crates, and making sure the produce is moving where it needs to go. We do not have a quiet office; our workspace is right there in the middle of the vegetables and the noise. The floors are often wet from the cleaning or the rain, and there is always a truck backing in or pulling out. It is a tough way to make a living, but it is what we know. We deal with farmers and retailers every single day. There is no time for fancy talk or marketing when you have got piles of stock that need to be moved before they spoil. We just focus on being fair and getting the work done. My brother and I handle the counts while the boys help with the heavy lifting. It is a fast-paced environment and it keeps us on our toes. Vallah is a bit of a trek from the main city, but it is where the real action is. We are just local traders trying to keep the supply going through the seasons.
