Narain Exim

If you go down to the Sabgi Mandi, you will find Narain Exim. Being in the vegetable market means things start very early. We are usually there before the sun is even up properly. It’s a loud place with all the vendors shouting and the carts moving around. We deal with export and import stuff, mostly connected to what goes on in the mandi. It is a small office, quite cramped with papers and samples. We have a couple of chairs for visitors, but usually, people are in a hurry. The smell of fresh vegetables is always in the air. Sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have a big staff. It is just a few of us handling the orders and making sure the crates are moving. The floor is concrete and often a bit damp from the morning mist. We don't use any big fancy computers, just a basic setup to keep track of the stock. It’s a lot of phone calls and writing things down in notebooks. Dealing with the mandi logistics can be a headache sometimes, especially when the trucks are blocked. But we have been here long enough to know the shortcuts. It is just a regular business in a busy market. We don't try to be anything else. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure everything gets where it needs to go.
