Nirmal Tuition Centre

Our spot at Gali Badran has been around for a good while now. Tucked inside Lohgarh Gate, the area stays pretty busy most days. Knowing Amritsar means you know these narrow streets get crowded, but we like the spot. Nirmal Tuition Centre is just a small place where kids come to get some extra help with their schoolwork after their regular classes are over. A bit of a rush usually happens in the afternoons. We have some wooden benches and a few whiteboards that have seen better days. Mostly, the rooms are full of the sound of notebooks flipping and kids asking questions. The place isn't fancy at all. We just try to make sure everyone understands what they’re reading. Some days it gets a bit noisy when the traffic outside picks up, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Local people from around the neighborhood know where we are. We open up in the morning and stay until the last batch of students finishes in the evening. There isn't any big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the door. Most of our time is spent going over math problems or explaining chapters from textbooks. It's simple work but it keeps us busy. Sometimes the tea man from down the street brings us a round while we’re working. We’ve seen a lot of students pass through these doors over the years.
